Newton Mill Camping Park Reviews

Newton Mill Camping Park

I visited Newton Mill in the summer and tented in a very pretty paddock area beside the stream where cars were not allowed. It was ideal for walkers and cyclists and very quiet. People who came by car were allowed to camp in the paddock, but they had to park their car on the other side of the stream. There was another area where cars were allowed beside the tents. The toilets and showers were new and very clean (and heated in the winter) and there was even a bathroom. There was also a good bar and restaurant. The meal I had was a very large helping and not expensive. The other good things about the site is that there is a very frequent bus service to the city centre and also the Bath-Bristol cycle path passes very close to it. All staff were very friendly and helpful and I thoroughly enjoyed camping there.

Newton Mill Camping Park

Tucked away in a valley this site has all of the hallmarks of a professional operation. Hookup available with TV hookup too if you want it ( you won't get a signal otherwise!) Decent shower/toilet facilities, with good access and level pitches many with hardstanding. There were many Large twin wheel type caravans there however, and an equal amount of Commercial vehicles on the park. The parade of deisel Transit Vans started at about 06.00 AM and went on periodically until about 09.00 AM - This may have been an isolated instance, but something to bear in mind if you are trying to get away from those who are earning a living as opposed to a well earned rest! Nice site - shame about the clientele.....
