Decoy Pond Farm Reviews

Decoy Pond Farm

Overall this superb camp site offers everything you need for a short stay over. There is plenty of room and the toilets are well positioned if you need a midnight visit. Unfortunately, there are NO shower facilities, but this is overcome by washing yourself in a personal cubicle with running hot water. Toilets are clean and well maintained. The reception office offers small 'must have' items, such as milk, ice bricks, bread and a facility to charge your mobile phone for 50p.

There is a small pond near the main entrance and kids can fish there. Plenty of horses and donkeys that will roam free round your tent etc. Just don't feed them, they don't know when to stop and will get very aggressive if you don't have any food left! Plenty of open and wooded forest areas to go rambling and walking, not forgetting mountain bike riding.

There are plenty of shops, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst and if you run out of food and fancy a BIG shop you can visit Tesco's in Applemore. Brockenhurst has an Indian take away, a few pubs, off licence/grocers etc. If you forget any camping gear then head for Lyndhurst to stock up. This amazing village is a mecca for special meats, fudge, cream teas, camping gear etc. Oh, and if you fancy buying a new Fearrai, you can just pop into the Ferrari garage and order one or three. Great garage and you can take a wander round without any pushy sales guy trying to make you part with your hard earned cash. I always visit! Across the road is a 'nik knak' shop that you have difficulty trying to get 5 people in at a time!

Overall, Roundhill is great, secure and functional for campers. Surrounding areas are not far away and offer something for everybody. Don't just take my word, try it!!
