Pebble Bank Caravan Park
Interhike visited this camping site a few years ago and the facilities were basic but adequate. However, we have visited this site again and have not been impressed with its maintenance.
Whilst other camping sites have been improving their facilities over the past few years, Pebble Bank has improved nothing and, due to lack of maintenance, we feel this site has actually got worse. The toilet and shower block was constantly dirty, wet and covered in cut grass. There are still not enough showers for a busy period and the showers are pitiful. There are still no proper doors to the gents showers, and a grubby shower curtain separates the shower from your drying area. The toilet and shower block looks to be in quite a bad state of repair and is in desperate need of modernisation. It seems that the owners are just not interested in the site any more as the maintenance is non-existent.
However, this is still the closest camping site to Weymouth and the views over Portland and Portland Harbour are fantastic.
We are still not sure why the shower and toilet block is situated in the static caravan field (which have their own facilities) whilst the camping field has nothing. This means an annoying long walk for campers.
In summary, this is a great site for the location and views, but is seriously let down by the owners' lack of maintenance and general lack of interest.

Pebble Bank Caravan Park
This is a small site (approx. 30 pitches) overlooking Chessil Beach, Portland Harbour and Weymouth Harbour at the back of Weymouth. It's about a 25 minute walk into town. The site has good washing facilities. A hot shower costs 20 and lasts for 5 minutes which is great. There is a bar attached to the office but it's quite small - purpose built at the top of a house!
If it rains, don't park your car outside the tent as the site is on a hill and you'll need a tractor to get you out!! There are plenty of parking spaces on the approach to the camping area next to the mobile homes.
Great small site, would definitely go back and would thoroughly recommend it! Enjoy.
