East Fleet Farm Reviews

East Fleet Farm 4/5 4 stars

Possibly the friendliest site Interhike have ever visited! We were greeted with a smile, which is a bonus considering some sites, and were made to feel very welcome after a clearly exhausting bike ride to get to their site. All the staff know the area extremely well and were extremely helpful when planning daily excursions. The facilities are fairly basic but definitely not low quality. If we had to find something wrong with this site, all we could suggest is that they could offer a wider variety in their shop. Its a good distance from Weymouth centre, so there's no annoying locals to contend with, but it's not too far to ride or walk if you don't have a car. When we went in June, it was a nice quiet site too, with no screaming kids. A great place to relax and enjoy yourself.

East Fleet Farm

Stayed here for the weekend of may 10 2003. Had to ring to check we could go as we were an all male group....Once they realised we were not a bunch of louts! we were welcomed with open arms.

Nice clean site, well laid out, power options if you want it. Generally on a slight slope but not a great problem. Not a huge amount in the way of facilities (suited us), showers at 20p for 3 mins. Childrens play area. Large clean central toilet block.
The great thing though is the old barn (or was it red barn?!) which is the site bar....good food in good size portions at good prices, we actually opted to eat there both evenings as it was better value than anywhere else we saw, plus it was closer to the tent after downing some well earned beers!

Bring a torch though as most of the site isnt lit. And avoid the shingle beech.....ok for dog walking but a little too much sewage for kids to play (didnt notice a smell to be fair)

All in all a nice little site at good prices with good enough facilities. I feel this may be our regular site for climbing trips to portland.
