Castlewellan Forest Park
Went here this weekend. Very simple to find. The price is £13 per night (caravan or tent). The site is very well maintained, a park ranger patrols regularly, no trouble, little noise. Car gates shut at 8 (though I am sure I saw more people coming in after this). It is mainly families who seemed to be using it. All the facilities were spotless. There are a number of walks, down beside the lake through the forest - though we got slightly lost as the shortest walk was not brilliantly signposted, but it was easy enough to find our way back using the signs for the horse trails. There is a cafe on site, but it closes around 5. No shop but Castlewellan is less than a 10 min walk away. Really friendly atmosphere - everyone was there to enjoy themselves with their families - would definately go back!!!
