Camping Playa Sol, Mataró

Went there 07/2007. Staff are friendly and attentive. Was surprised to be asked to pay in full on arrival, even before seeing the pitch. The pitch was very small, tucked away in a corner of the campsite and sloping up at the edge to the perimeter hedge. The campsite is on the side of the C32, which is a very busy road. There are no footpaths or crossings, which makes it very hazardous. It is more than 1.5 kilometers to the centre of Mataro (as published on the website). If you are going to this site, you must have a car. As we didn't take a car we only stayed one night, unfortunately as we had pre-booked 11 nights and already paid in full, we lost our money as they have a 'no refund' policy. Personally, I wouldn't return to this site, though others seem to like it.

Stayed there 07/2002 with family. It's beside the seaside but you have to cross a dense trafficroad. Quite isolated from the center, you need a car; but we had no disturbance from the traffic. Very clean and good facilities, big swimming pool. There're shady pitches for long stays. We preferred the sunny pitches (no shade) because of the free space and practically absence of neighbours. Was a good spot to visit the shore and from there to barcelona.
