Camping Cabo De Gata
We Stayed at this site for 15 days in December/January of 2002/2003. We enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The facilities were good and regularly cleaned. The bar / resturant was not regularly open at this time of year although you could book meals when you wanted and drink in the evenings. The bar was open some lunchtimes and afternoons for tapas. I would imagine the bar was open more regularly in the high season.
The children's play equipment was a bit limited but there was a small 'sports' area where you could play 5-a-side or tennis.
There is a pool which wasn't open when we stayed, but it looked to be a reasonable size.
The staff were very freindly and helpful and the atmosphere on the site was freindly. Most of the 'campers' at this time of year were English oldies getting some winter sun.
The beach was about half a miles walk across the scrubland on a rough path. The local village was a short walk away accross the scrub or about a three mile drive. Not too many shops there, but enough for the basics. Some nice quiet bars and a very good market on Saturdays.
A nice quiet site in December, probably very busy in the high season.
