Camping Villaggio Rio Verde
Hello all.
I stayed on this campsite for 6 nights in July 2002.
First of all, even the last 2 kms of road to the campsite are now all OK (asphalt).
We arrived on the campsite after a few days of rain (yes, even in Umbria in Italy it often rains) so the campgrounds were relatively wet. But all dried quickly the next day(s). Most of the pitches are situated among trees, so there's shadow enough on sunny days. The swimming pool is rather large but you have to pay for it what makes the campsite a bit more expensive.
In the village of Costaciaro (3kms from campsite) you find some smaller shops. In Sigillo (6kms from campsite) there are 2 smaller 'super'markets. For a larger supermarket you'll have to get to Gubbio (almost 20 kms from the campsite). Other Umbrian highlights (Assisi, Perugia, Spello, Spoleto, ...) are relatively far away.
There's a restaurant/bar with limited menu as well as a small shop on the campsite. In the sitting room you can watch TV.
Mount Cucco (summit = about 1550m) is only 10 kms away and is a paradise for deltaflying and parapenting.
The campsite responsibles are all very gentle and always available.
