Camping Eraclea Minoa, Agrigento

We visited this site in September 2004. The site was clean and quiet. Set under the white cliffs at Capo Bianco in an area mostly dominated by private holiday villas. Pitched our tent 5 metres from the wide, long, sandy beach under tall pine trees which led right up to the sand. Water was clear and clean. Two good restaurants within a three minute walk along the beach were all we needed. Plenty of room to pitch where you liked, but the site is apparently much busier in July and August. Tokens needed for showers (50c) which are starting to show their age, and shop only open for limited hours this time of year, but all staff very helpful. Three days into the holiday we felt obliged to go and see the rest of the Island, but after experiencing the horrors of being wedged between a few hundred motorhomes, a busy railway line and a motorway at a site on the East Coast near Taormina, we fled back here for the rest of our holiday. Would go back again.
