Tree Grove Caravan and Camping Park 
We didn't have a chance to visit the campsite as we have two small children and were told that they do not take children except on school holidays. It was school holidays for our children (Patrick's Day weekend '09) but the spokesperson was firm on their rule. Quite astounding. Not recommended for this policy alone.

Tree Grove Caravan and Camping Park
Saw the site in the Rough Guide, and gave it a try. Super site, spacious, clean, tidy and sheltered, hard standing for cars right by the pitch in most cases.
Showers are free, hot and all the communal areas are well kept. TV / Games Room and kitchen area are pleasant.
The only gripe about Tree Grove is that the guidebook I had reckoned it is 1km from Kilkenny. It is'nt, it's a good 2 miles up a fairly steep hill from Kilkenny Castle, and if you're walking, there is a fairly busy road to cross before you get to the site. No shop, but a garage with convenience store is 10 mins away.
Recommended, but bear the distance in mind.
