Lakeside Centre Caravan and Camping Park Reviews

Lakeside Centre Caravan and Camping Park 5/5 5 stars

Myself and my husband stayed here over the bank holiday weekend. The site was very busy, understandably. When we were shown to our site we were positioned in rows directly infront of other campers with our car parked 15 meters away. We couldnt see the logic in this. All this achieved was blocking in the peoples view behind so that the owner could cram more people in. We were packed in like sardines literally and there was an awful lot of noise at night. The field we were in backed onto a very busy road which was noisy too. When we arrived at the site we met the owner to book ourselves in. He was not very friendly. No chat - on the local area and very limited info about the site. It was just like he was going through the motions. We have been camping for 20 years plus across ireland and the uk and experienced many campsites. Some good some bad. This one was not a pleasant experience. The toilet and shower facilities were as explained in the previous email. Another bad expererience. The local area was excellent including Ballyshannon ,Bundoran and Beelek to name but a few. The location was the parks only redeeming feature. Very disapointing.

Lakeside Centre Caravan and Camping Park 3/5 3 stars

We have been visiting this site for the past four years, although pitches are great, park is great and proximity to Town great, the facilities leave quite a lot to be desired. The 'modern' toilet/shower block consists of 5 of each (hope you like the outdoors)- a "queue for the loo" is common especially in the mornings, also if you happen to be pitched within the first 3 rows back from the toilet block, the banging of the doors gets a bit annoying through the night. For the first couple of years we were able to use the indoor shower and toilet facilties in the building where the laundry facilities are, which was great but this was stopped. The lake is very beautiful but unfortunately you are no longer allowed to fish from the small pier or launch your own boat from the slip - although you can hire boats on site. I would say this site has at least doubled in size since our first visit but unfortunately the toilet/shower facilities have been cut. I think this year will be our last visiting Lakeside.

Lakeside Centre Caravan and Camping Park

Quite a new site with camping on the banks of a man made lake. Nice facilities and seasonal warden is usually a camper owner. Very close to the town of Ballyshannon [birthplace of Rory Gallagher] with its bars & food outlets. Large car boot sale most Sunday mornings on the way into town. Good facilities and well worth a visit.
