Big, shady and very beautiful campsite on a hill in Porto. In front of the campsite there are 2 supermarkets and a bus stop for the bus to Calvi and Ajaccio. There are enough clean toilets and showers, but the showers were lukewarm. At the end of May 2002 I paid 7,50 Euro for a small tent, 1 person, no electricity. The reception was "closed", but I could put my tent anywhere I liked and every afternoon the owner came to collect the money. Don't forget to keep the receipt with you, because sometimes the owner forgot I had already paid for a few days in advance. The campsite is a very good base for walking at the weird and beautiful red rock formations of the Calanche de Piana. There are restaurants and a beach at the Marina of Porto, about 15 minutes walking from the camping.
