Armada ARV 106 Skis 2023 [more info...] | £560 | More from Ellis Brigham | |
The ARV 106 is a true all condition freestyle ski. The sidewall construction makes them more resistant to damage and better at absorbing high-speed chatter. The Poplar Ash core blends lighter and denser woods for an ultra-playful and responsive ride; ash stringers increase pop. AR Freestyle Rocker uses rocker at the tip and tail with low camber underfoot for stable handling and good grip. The shaping, based on JJ's from previous years, plus the new Smear Tech, maximises the soft snow ability.Terrain Type & Ability LevelTerrain Type It's a wide-bodied park ski and also a all-condition, all mountain model. It has the performance for anything on the mountain and it any speed too. The addition of Smear Tech at the tip and tail boosts the soft snow handling with better release and smoother initiation.Skier TypeFreestyle skiers who want to go everywhere on the mountain. The width boosts float as well as stability. The flex keeps things playful but is easily stiff enough for high-speed turns on pistes and going full-gas through chopped snow.OverviewShape106mm in the waist does put it in the bracket of the wider park skis but it never feels unruly and this width is super useful when skiing elsewhere on the mountain. The 20.5m radius (180cm) ensures good stability without making it feel slow to turn.RockerAR Freestyle Rocker uses rockered tips and tails combined with positive camber under foot to allow the ski to charge with ease through unpredictable snow and maintain a solid carve when asked to do so. Turn the whole mountain into your playground.CoreArmada's Poplar Ash Core uses lightweight poplar combined with higher density full-length ash stringers to create an impossibly lively ski that has all the power needed for boosting to new elevations.ConstructionThe AR75 Sidewall uses semi-cap sidewall along the majority of the ski with a full cap at the tip and tails. This combination helps absorb high speed chatter and impacts from jibs.Key Features2.2 Impact edgeHeat treated and built to avoid excess weight while maintain durability, this edge gives the best balance of durability and feel of the whole Armada collection.S7 BaseThe perfect blend of durability and speed.Smear TechA uniquely 3D beveled base in the tip and tail creates a unique feel in all snow conditions. Less likely to catch in crud, self-centering in deep snow and in-catchable on take-offs, Smear Tech lets you float effortlessly whether sliding forwards, backwards, left or right.eB tester’s comments: Luke (Buying Team) It changes your perception of how a 106mm ski should handle. It's agile and surprisingly good on hard snow; variable and soft snow is where it truly comes to life though.Size (cm)Tip Width (mm)Waist Width (mm)Tail Width (mm)Radius (m)Weight (g)17213610612519.5200018013410612420.5212518813210612321.52275General InformationSkier Ability: Advanced|expertRocker: Tip/Tail RockerRadius: LongBase: SinteredBindings: Ski sold flatDIN: n/aConstruction: Semi SidewallCore: WoodDemo: No [Full Details] |
