Marker's Duke PT takes a radical approach to combining top alpine performance with lightweight ascending by using an innovative Ride & Hike toe. For walking, the upper part is unlocked and removed revealing a pin system, the upper section is then stored in a backpack. For the descent the upper jaw is locked back into place and the binding becomes a high-performance alpine unit that will take on any terrain. The Inter Pivot 3 Freeride Heel of the Duke 16 has improved power transmission, energy absorption and vertical heel elasticity combined with better step in comfort.OverviewBinding TypeBackcountry Hybrid (Multi Norm Alpine on descent and PinCert on ascent)Boot Compatibility In Alpine mode it will accept boots with any DIN standard (Alpine ISO 5255, Tour ISO 9523, GripWalk 23223, WTR), this does exclude the lightest models of pin boot that fall outside of DIN Norms. To use the climbing function, a boot with pin inserts at the toe is required.Skier TypeFreerider, Backcountry. Stronger skiers will appreciate that the PT 16 has all the performance and retention of a top Marker Alpine binding for powerful skiing anywhere on the mountain and, with a simple unlocking mechanism, can be converted to a highly effecient Pin model for ascending.Key FeaturesSKIING, Auto Quad LockThe alpine toe part locks itself at 4 different points automatically when stepping into the binding to ensure maximum safety.SKIING, Inter Pivot 3 Freeride HeelThe third and newest generation: improved power transmission, energy absorption and vertical heel elasticity combined with an improved step in comfort. To use the walking mode, the upper part of the toe is simply unlocked, tilted forward and removed, this uncovers the pin binding. Unclipping and removing the upper section saves 300g per foot. When it's time to ski, the top section is clipped back to the base plate, secure by the Auto Quad Lock technology.CLIMBING, Lock & Walk BrakeA simple flick of a switch in the brake effortlessly locks the brakes out of the way and Includes a neutral walking mode and 10° climbing aid.
