Campingplatz Alte Hansestadt Lemgo
Lemgo might seem a bit off the beaten track but is well worth a couple of nights. The site has an ex-municipal feel to it. The facilities are a bit aged but clean and functional with free hot showers. Site is mainly statics but tents and tourers are made very welcome on grass under mature trees next to swimming baths. Short walk to centrum with many fine old Hanseatic buildings. Short drive to Teutoberger Wald to see giant statue of Hermann victorious over the Roman legions (hilltop viewpoint). Nearby there is an eagle sanctuary (Adlerwarte) when you can see astonishing demonstations of free flying eagles and vultures from a clifftop gallery. Mystic site of the Externsteine is also in the forest adjoining.
