La Nouvelle Floride
Busy friendly family oriented site opening onto a well kept sandy beach that stretches several miles, from Sete to the East down to Cap d'Agde, a couple of miles west of here, where the beach becomes extensively naturist. Majority of visitors appear to be french with quite a high number of German and Dutch also. The English are very few and far between here but the atmosphere nevertheless is very good.
The sevices on this site and the Charlemagne site opposite are shared, notably this includes a very well presented pool on each site.
The evening entertainment on site is very well organised with both adults and children in mind with a variety of themed evenings. In the daytime there are organised beachsports and, for the younger children (also for the benefit of Mum and Dad!) there are trained couriers running kids clubs.
This site is at one end of the beachfront development that is Marseillan Plage. In the evenings this offers a 3/4 mile long strip of shops, bars, restaurants of every description that personify the french holidaymaker.
The wash facilities here are plentiful and of an extremely high quality, despite the fact that there are a large number of fixed caravans on site for hire alongside the tents, mobile caravans, and camper vans that visit.
In high season, the remaining pitches not already booked are only available on a 'turn up' basis which is a blessing for those who have not been able to book.
Shopping on site is very good with a well stocked 'petit casino' both here and opposite. For larger hypermarkets visit Agde only 4 or 5 miles down the road.
Available at reception are tickets to the nearby Aqualand in Cap d'Agde which offers a fun filled day out for all the family. Buying tickets in advance means not having to queue at the park when you arrive.
On the downside, whilst most pitches are well shaded, some of the newer additions around the outside are as yet a little exposed to the midday sun. Also some evenings the entertainment can go on very late which may not be appropriate for those looking for a more peaceful holiday.
Overall this is a very enjoyable site for parents and children of all ages alike, although not one you could ever describe as tranquil, and one that definitely comes recommended.
