Camp Municipal Le Champ De Mars
I've been to this campsite in July/02. This must be the most well kept campsite in France. The flower beds are so beautiful! The grass pitchs are wonderfull also. There are lots of trees and plenty of shade. The site is small (perhaps 30 pitches). The location is right next to Avesnes-sur-Helpe centre.
The toilets were incredible clean, really amazing. The campsite was half full when I was there.
The only problem is the noise (perhaps it won't be a problem to other people, but it was annoying to me). The campsite is within ear distance of the church bells that keep ringing all night long at 15min intervals. Very close there is the railway line - long and noisy trains at night.
Apart from that, a great campsite! I've checked other campsites in the Avesnois region and this is the best one, no doubt!
