If you like to be crammed into a campsite like sardines then this is the place for. The campsite owner directs you to a tiny pitch and then shoe horns in the next group as close possible....maximise that income!

Toilet block is one of those portacabines split into "his" and "hers". So three toilets for hundreds of sardines.

The pub....well it WAS good but it attracts the type that want to be able to stagger back into a tent.

Tents competing to play the loudest noise, stuffed in like sardines, unhelpful owner and toilets you can get the plague from just by looking at....nice.

Decent campsite - nice and flat with good, soft grass and a choice of open or shady spots to pick from. Toilet block is central and nice and clean and there's a pub right next to the campsite for when you yearn for a comfy chair. The train line can be a bit of a shocker BUT this also means that if you don't have a car you can get there easily from London and you can also get to Bournemouth / Poole easily if you feel like a day at the beach.

In a nutshell: Positives: Flat, soft grass, mixture of trees / open land, nearby pub, good transport links, a 'tents only' area (for REAL campers!) decent loo block and a regular sprinkling of taps and bins.

Negatives: That train line (only really an issue if you pitch right next to it), can't book in advance for a weekend (though wasn't an issue when I went in early June), and some pretty confrontational ponies, who seem to think that you have no right to that bag of food that you left out for them.

I'd go back, though there was nothing extra-special to retain me.
