Haddon Grove Reviews

Haddon Grove

Pitched here due to greenhills being full. This is a basic but enjoyable site. Ablutions are fine, but expect to queue if you need a shower. My wife, 10 year old daughter and I enjoyed a one night stopover in our new tent on august bank holiday and following a pleasant afternoon stroll had a reasonably priced night under the stars.

Friendly campsite with basic facilities. The campsite consists of 3 fields surrounded by trees and overlooking Lathkill Dale (very nice views). Toilets, showers etc. are 50 yards away from the actual tents and things which makes it a bit nicer I think! Relaxed atmosphere, other campers were nice, although some school camping trips were there and they were talking all night and then up at 5am. They were well behaved otherwise :-). We will go again soon.

In a word-marvellous! Had loads of holidays here on this relatively cheap site with basic facilities (We prefer not to transport our home when camping). Working farm with plenty of animals to entertain the kids if you want. Superb location on the edge of Lathkill Dale. If you like all the mod cons then don't go! If you genuinely love the great outdoors and want instant access from your tent door then this is the best in the White Peak.

One word describes this site...disappointing! The toilet facilities here are quite poor with 75% of toilets over flowing by 7.30am. Hot water is only available at certain times of the days and therefore long queues for a shower must be expected. At the time of our visit the gents toilet had a glass door which doesn't leave much to the imagination.

Large farm site on edge (literally)of Lathkill Dale. Bit rough and ready but very friendly Specialises in DoE groups but has full faclities for caravans with hook ups Small shop on site with tea room. Toilets basic but clean, good `family` shower room. Good touring site for the Peak district Pubs in Monyash and Over Haddon do good meals Bakewell 3milea with full faclities banks supermarket etc, I am a regular user
